    Door cards stopping them rotting

Thats some fast deteriation on those panels in 3 years! Not much bringing them back but maybe try replacing the plastic membrane and testing in before you replace the door cards. You could/should coat the panels with a PVA mix before refitting.

My 68 Westy - as time goes by .....

It does, and I appreciate it. I was pretty concerned if I was wasting my time/doing the wrong thing but the feedback so far has been encouraging.

My 68 Westy - as time goes by .....

They really are. I changed the one side over (from stock 185/80 x 14) and the van was visibly leaning, its 1-2 inches higher than stock. I really have to make an effort to get in :D One slight front tyre/outer arch rub yesterday, but it was an uncommon manouvre so no worries.

My 68 Westy - as time goes by .....

So, finally back on the road. Thought I’d put the sprints back on, so decided to follow it on with a sort of retro theme that may have been seen on a bus on the scene back in the old days on a bus on the west coast… So, bought some vinyl off eBay and cut some stripes to suit. Tyres are 195/80 x...

    Track Rods, ends and tracking.

I just went to get my tracking done at a modern tyre fitting place. £17 offer for two wheel alignment. Sorry mate, we’ll need to take these track rod arms off and the steering wheel to do it. And it’ll be about £90. Can’t you just, like, adjust the adjustable track rod? Nah, sorry mate.

Passenger and drivers doors and fitment 68 through 79

The locks are different, but they will work, its the hinges that are different. You could get hinge conversion kits that would make them interchange ... I presume you still can?

    Auto renewal!!?????

If you contact Paypal, they should be able to reverse the payment for you. Consumer protection for buyers is pretty good. I'm afraid this element of the site management is managed by the owners who are in the US, not the bus enthusiasts that moderate it here. :(

    Raising the suspension on adjusters

As I recall , on mine the preload tension was so much that they popped out themselves when I undid them. Usually you need a large fork separator that will damage the boots.

    Raising the suspension on adjusters

If you are on flipped spindles you don’t need much lowering via the adjuster for regular use. I’d readjust that bottom tube and leave it. Unless you ‘want’ a new beam I think it’s overkill.

    Raising the suspension on adjusters

If the top adjuster is fixed you could just buy another adjuster* and fit the outer hardware (or just buy a replacement nut and grub screw from a fittings place) to the lower adjuster and reset it. It’s a bit old hat now but it was quite common to lower buses by just one tube until a few years...

Group buy- Delrin bush for shift rod

Thanks to you again Mike. I thought I’d caused too much fuss initially so I’m glad there are now straightforward solutions to fitting it. There’s a part of me that should be vexed at the hassle to fit a £40+ stupid part, but life’s too short :D
